Because I've still not enough of a handle on the system for separated reports, and am also a lazy bastard.

(Yes, this is very late.)
So. Dark Tempus is awesome, you should definitely go to it. Yes, you. Sci-fi post-apocalyptic survival horror with a pretty damn shiny world and some epic epic skills (and some really awesome people). Go. Do that thing.
( The usual cut for froth and foip )

Minuses
- OC tent flooding, meaning OC clothing and phone both got massively waterlogged (and phone now does not work)
- overhearing some homophobic/generally uncomfortable comments
- spinefail
Pluses
- Awesome group being awesome and leaving me feeling like one of them very very quickly
- FOOD
- Adrenaline rush from arena battles
- Roleplay with other groups, and an IC allegiance-switch possibly coming up
- Pile of corsairs being told bedtime stories by a Persian
- "I'm not doing it without you"
- Being asked several times if I wanted a wife (and once if I wanted a husband)
- IC sexuality confusion is big and clever
- Battle librarians
- Pillars roleplay and "Goat, Not-A-Goat"
- A very specific set of criteria for a blessing
- Getting to talk IC religion with many peoples
- The quest. Oh gods, the quest.
- Just...everything. Awesome awesome system. Very definitely playing it again.

Okay, feeling more secure now. Again with the 'ignoring the stressors in my life until they go away', mind, but I think I'm justified in taking this week for my last uni work and next week for Maelstrom and not giving a damn about much else until that's over.
Also, 'Strom looks to be going to be fun. Huzzah inadvisable alchemy and shellshock (well, more shellshock than usual. There's a funny story behind that, but it's not a good kind of funny, so).

Which is not to say I/we haven't been doing stuff - far from it, in fact. We've been so bloody busy with things (and brainweasels, sad-to-say, but let's not dwell on that bit) that updating's slightly fallen by the wayside. So , this time you get two event reports instead of one.

I'm used to making sure I carry at least some painkillers, in case of migraines.
I'm not used to making sure I carry my/Mal's cane, in case of leg/spine flare-ups.
I'm used to the saliva-tasting-bitter, nausea, dizziness, and eye pain group of warning signs.
I'm not used to the numbness, 'cold' stabbing pain in my shin, slowly building uncomfortableness in my lumbar spine, and shooting pain down my side group of warning signs.
Huzzah for new and exciting ways my body fucks up at me.
I suppose it's a fair trade for the vomiting-inducingly painful stomach-aches, though.

- First ever LARP injury (nosebleed, courtesy of a sword in the face. Fast night-fighting, so only to be expected, very apologetic player, and no lasting damage)
- Experience fighting in partial clank, chain and leather. Chain surprisingly easy to fight in, clank not so much (though did get complimented on the look), leather easiest, lightest and most comfortable - confirmed that this is what we want for Mal (and Mordecai, if he ever hits play in any system).
- Experience fighting with sword, mace, and claws. Claw-fighting fun as hell, if tiring. Mace tricky to use. Sword not as difficult as had thought it would be, but need more practice getting past shields and polearms. Managed a wee bit of parrying and dodging, though.
- NPC plot! Accidental NPC plot that was not part of any brief (given was playing a random unbriefed character), but NPC plot nonetheless. Am very much hoping I get to bring my nice religiously confused Lordite back as an NPC this coming year.
- A ton of bruises, scratches and aches (plus what I think might be a slight rope-burn). Well, Mal's hitting play at Maelstrom fresh from 90 days of campaign, so.
- The knowledge that I definitely want to monster for this system next year, if work allows it (if I get work).

Right. Mal just pointed out that he will interact with this person after I've managed the 'OC' bits that we need to do (tent and so forth), and he's not going to get ridiculously paranoid, because he's got nothing to be outed about (on a related note, it does amuse me, his insistence that he's 'very straight', and the fact that it's entirely true)
Makes far too much sense, that.
Remind me again why I never listen to other people in here straight away?
Anyway, off talky-bits-of-internet and away to relax.

'kay, this reaction is getting a wee bit beyond a joke.
Someone knowing something you didn't want them to know =/= a reason not to go to an event you'll enjoy and have a bloody good time at.
It. Will. Be. Fine.
For fuck's sake.
(And yes, this'll probably get deleted come tomorrow and brain working properly and not being paranoid and nauseous and argh)
